Lauren Shannon

Principal and Founder of Little Acorns Theatre Academy

I started dance, singing and acting at the age of three and was a child actress in the BBC television programme Grange Hill.  I then went on to complete my Lamda Gold Drama examinations and after beating fierce competition, I was incredibly lucky to be awarded  a scholarship to complete a BA Honours Degree in Acting at Mountview Theatre Academy, where I also obtained Level 1 Stage Combat/Sword Fighting.

Since graduating I have performed in many theatre, TV, radio, pop and film productions and choreographed and directed for various professional organisations and theatre companies whilst coaching drama/speech and confidence technique to many big corporate companies.

As my career progressed I soon realised my real passion lay in teaching and children, so for the past ten years whilst building Little Acorns Theatre Academy I have taught in leading stage schools throughout London, and taught drama and dance in many secondary and primary schools with one to one  extensive drama/speech therapy ranging from students age 3 to adults.

Most recently I worked as a vocal and acting coach on a new BBC TV Series for children called Airmageddon which also involved children from Little Acorns taking part in the show.
